Top 8 Best Buffalo and Western New York Wedding Photographers
It is so important to find a photographer that you LOVE. When I got married in 2016, it was REALLY hard for me to find the type of photographer that wasn’t your typical staged-prom-pic photographer. You know the one: dark filters, they don’t capitalize on natural light and they’re just in the biz for the money. They don’t have a real eye or artistic side to the photos that they’re taking.
When I started looking for our wedding photographer, I knew I wanted that “light and airy” feel, but I couldn’t seem to find them via Google. I was new to Instagram and decided to check out the #buffalophotographer hashtag and lo and behold, there was Alexandra Elise Photography in all her glory. She wasn’t “local” per se, but she was close enough, in Corning, and willing to travel. She had the look that I wanted for my future wedding photos…basically, she was perfect and is still my #1 photographer whenever a bride asks me who I suggest. Now, I’m not meaning for this to turn into a love letter to Ali, there are many photographers out there, but to find the best of the best is always a challenge.
I’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again… taking the time to find the PERFECT photographer for your wedding is one step you don’t want to skip. I can promise you that you will not regret it.
When I told my husband that I didn’t care if I spent our entire wedding budget on my dream wedding photographer, he told me I was absolutely insane. We had set forth a budget and I needed to stay within that range. That meant that I had to make a phone call to Ali to see if she could work with me to cut down on some of the package and perhaps create a custom package for our wedding. She was so kind and gracious and understood completely, so that is exactly what she did. To this day, my husband tells me that he is so thankful that we pulled out all the stops to use Ali. He loves our photos as much as I do and now understands how important it is to have photos of our loved ones to look back on for years to come.
Worried that you won’t be able to afford these wonderful photographers on my list? Think again. My advice is to have a conversation with them. If you never ask, you’ll never know if you can have your dream wedding photographer - you might think that they’re just lightyears out of your budget, but some are totally willing to work with you to craft the perfect services for your needs and budget.
Photos are the one thing you can turn back to after the crazy day is over to reminisce on the memories that you missed or will not want to forget. We all know that even the day of our wedding, we brides are running around like wild women making sure everything is perfect, everyone is talked to, and everyone feels important. Photographers will capture all the sentimental moments along with the ones that will make you laugh while you were trying to enjoy the day that went by in the blink of an eye.
If you’re starting your search and don’t know where to start, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve already created a list of the best of the best for you. No funky lighting, no corny poses. All of these ladies are super talented.
