6 Tips For A Kid-Friendly Wedding Ceremony & Wedding Reception
Wondering how to keep kids entertained at your wedding?
Everyone loves weddings, including kids! It may be hard for them to keep their excitement contained, so we’ve come up with some kid-friendly ideas on how to keep your little guests occupied during your wedding ceremony and reception.
Kid-Friendly Wedding Ceremony Ideas
Let’s face it, a wedding ceremony is probably the least fun part of a wedding for little ones. They don’t quite understand it and they can’t sit still or quiet for very long. Here are our ideas for keeping those kiddos happy:
Bubbles are a great way to keep kids busy during an outdoor ceremony! Set up a bubble station or table with a pretty sign and basket filled with bubbles for your guests to take to help celebrate your wedding vows!
These are perfect for little ones to wave around in the air to help celebrate your vows! They can also be used during the dance! Little ones will love twirling around with these!
Create a coloring bundle that parents with kids can grab before taking their seats or that your ushers can hand out to little ones. You could include a wedding themed coloring page with a few crayons in cute goodie bags. You could also provide clipboards for easier coloring, if your budget allows.

This is when the kids tend to get a little stir crazy! They are filled with energy from having to sit still and be quiet during the ceremony, so you’ll want to provide some clever activities for them!
You know when you go into some restaurants and they have the whole table covered in paper that you can draw on? Do that! Designate a table just for the kids. You can cover it with butcher paper and place crayons or colored pencils in jars or cups that match your wedding style. You could even get stickers that the kids can use to decorate the table.
Don’t forget about the little ones during your cocktail hour! Keep kiddos from getting hangry by providing kid-friendly snacks before dinner. Set up a kids only snack table or incorporate snacks that both adults and kids would like.
Kids (and adults) love games! Life-size games and lawn games are great options if you have the space for them. I personally think giant Jenga and bean bag toss are so much fun! If not you don’t have the room for those types of games, set up a game table with games that are kid-friendly!
These tips are guaranteed to keep your little wedding guests happily entertained! Happy wedding planning!
